Employment Law – Legal Advice and Representation in Germany and Internationally

Our employment law practice covers the entire employment relationship, from its establishment to its termination. We advise and represent employers, executives, employees, and companies in all matters of German labour law.

We review, draft, and negotiate employment contracts of all kinds, including fixed-term contracts and executive agreements. In ongoing employment relationships, we provide legal advice and representation in conflict situations such as warnings, employer instructions, transfers, working time, vacation, and remuneration issues. We also assist clients in termination matters, including dismissals, termination agreements, and the expiry of fixed-term employment contracts.

A key focus of our practice is advising and representing clients in restructuring and reorganisation projects. This includes legal support in transformations, business changes, mergers, and transfers of undertakings under German law. Where works councils are involved, we assist in the negotiation of reconciliation of interests and social plans and participate in negotiations upon request.

We also advise medium-sized companies on all aspects of collective labour law, in particular collective bargaining law, co-determination rights, and works constitution law. Our services include representation in disputes between employers and works councils in decision proceedings before the German labour courts, as well as participation in conciliation committee proceedings relating to works agreements.

Due to the international orientation of our law firm, we regularly advise on employment law matters with an international dimension, in particular in relation to French labour law. In such cases, we work closely with specialised partner firms in Paris, especially in matters involving international assignments and cross-border employment relationships.

We represent our clients nationwide before all German labour courts, regional labour courts, and the Federal Labour Court (Bundesarbeitsgericht).
